Decision Support Analyst

A Decision Support Analyst will be responsible for providing reporting and data analytics gathered from a trading marketplace. This position works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams and occasionally outside resources to define business needs and design reporting solutions and analysis for better decision making. Key components of this position include designing and writing reports; analyzing and reporting data on such subjects as listing/sales performance, bidding behavior, pricing statistics, buyer analysis, seller analysis, trader analysis, inventory mix, web analytics, trends, industry and competitive intelligence directly related to the decision and leadership activities of the company
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage queue of reporting requests efficiently and in a timely manner
•Work closely with stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a reporting/analytics project – requirements gathering, scoping, development, user acceptance testing and production rollout
•Convert raw data into applied, specific information and suggestions that add value to business planning and decision making
•Provide ad hoc, daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for several internal stakeholder groups with varying business needs and goals
•Leverage database assets to monitor buying, selling, listing, bidding, trading and recommendation behavior
•Analyze ROI metrics of business initiatives for Trade Operations
•Provide analysis on actual or proposed website improvements for the Product team
•Proactively analyze data to identify immediate business improvement opportunities
•Track and report on business unit KPI's
REQUIRED SKILLS:
•Bachelors degree required; MBA is a plus
•5+ years in a similar and progressive position
•3 + years Microsoft SQL query AND DB2 experience to pull raw data and/or aggregated data
•Ability to understand the relationships between tables, views, stored procedures, and functions within a relational SQL database
•Action-orientated with the ability to meet deadlines and turnaround requests in short order
•Experience in analyzing data created from an online marketplace - Automotive experience helpful, but not essential
•Strong analytical skills: Superb experience with Microsoft Access & Excel; able to work with and mine a large dataset with little or no direction, turning data into actionable information
•Strong communication skills (Both Verbal and Written): Able to develop and write compelling analysis and presentations; able to work with different groups to understand needs and develop action items accordingly
•Proven experience in a data-intensive role that provides solutions-based analysis for complex business problems
